Lillian's father, Jay T. Van Buren, was born May 22, 1860, in Waterford Township, Oakland County, Michigan, and died May 27, 1937, at Highland Township. He married Ida M. Dodge, the daughter of Alonzo and Elsie Dodge, who was born February 25, 1858, and died September 10, 1941. In addition to their daughter. Jay T. and Ida M. (Dodge) Van Buren had a son, Leslie J. Van Buren, born in 1883, who married Edna Eileen Eddy . Their son, Russell Van Buren, born May 2, 1912, was employed by the Highland Producers Association for 39 years, from October, 1939, to July, 1978. Jay T. Van Buren was a farmer and the photo below shows him using a team to pull a drag over his fields.
