Adrian G. Barrett, the younger son of David S. and Sarah Mariah (Woodworth) Barrett, was born January 19, 1870. He acquired the former Lockwood farm in the northeast quarter of Section 7, across Hickory Ridge Road from his brother's property. He was a breeder of Merino Sheep and Polled Durham Cattle. Since the farm was rich in gravel he also operated a small gravel pit for a time.
