Eldridge and Betty (Barrett) Brian took over the Barrett family farm in Section 8.  In 1947 they began planting evergreens on the property, some of which were sold to neighbors and the occasional visitor as Christmas trees.  As sales increased over the years they were joined in the business by their children and their spouses.  Broadview Christmas Tree Farm is now one of the larger operations of its kind in southeast Michigan, with over 100 acres of scotch pine, spruce and firs.  It offers both pre-cut and cut-your-own Christmas trees.
