On June 14, 1936, Charles E. Needham married Aroline Lockwood, daughter of Frank and Minnie (Andrews) Lockwood of Highland. Born April 3, 1907, she attended the Hickory Ridge stone school before beginning her own teaching career in 1925; most of it in Highland's rural schools and later the Huron Valley School District. Aroline and Charles E. Needham had one child, son Charles Edward Needham, Jr., born March 17, 1939.
