Fred C. Ruggles, the oldest surviving son of Lorenzo D. and Lydia (Cary) Ruggles, married December 24, 1890, Annabell McCall.  She was born May 8, 1870, at Hartland Township, Livingston County, the daughter of Robert Frederick and Mary E. (Ladsen) McCall.  Fred C. Ruggles taught school for several years before purchasing a farm in Sanilac County, Michigan.  He soon returned to Oakland County, however, living in both White Lake and Commerce Townships.  Fred C. died in 1934, while his wife Annabell died in 1952.  Seen below is their daughter, Mamie L. Ruggles, born January 3, 1892.  After the death of Lorenzo D. Ruggles she lived with her grandmother, Lydia (Cary) Ruggles, at Highland Station.  Like her father and grandfather Mamie taught school; first at the Grubb School (in 1910) and later at the Union School in Highland Station (in 1911 and 12).  She married in 1918 Chester W. Arms of Milford.
