On the northeast corner of M-59 and Duck Lake Road stood Schirmer's "Hi-Speed" service station and, to the east of that, Schirmer's grocery. This view of both buildings was taken looking north-northeast. The grocery store eventually became "Mark's Plumbing Supply" before being town town in the 1980's. The service station has also been replaced with a modern Mobil gas station.
