The Excelsior school once stood on the west side of Milford Road, just south of Watkins Boulevard. The frame building was built in 1874, replacing the so-called "A-Rab" school building which previously occupied the site. It was sold in 1936 and thereafter used as a home before being demolished in the 1970's to make way for what is now Gil-Roy's Hardware. Two pairs of fathers and daughters taught there: Ulysses S. Beach (1897) and Clara Mae Beach (1924-25) and Fred Donaldson (1900) and Laura Donaldson (1922). This photo shows the class of 1924-25.
