This enlargement of the 1909 USGS Topographic map shows the southeast portion of Highland Township (Sections 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 34, 35 and 36). Items of interest include, but are not limited to (i) Highland Station in Sections 22 and 27; (ii) the Village of Spring Mills in the east portion of Section 22; (iii) the dam at the south end of Alderman Lake, to feed the race for the grist mill in Spring Mills; (iv) the Grubb School in Section 24; and (v) the Excelsior School in Section 34.
